On February 15, 2018, Peterbilt Motors Company announced the launch of the latest addition to the Peterbilt family: the Model 579 UltraLoft. The UltraLoft offers drivers a spacious cab and sleeper design along with boosted fuel economy for Peterbilt’s flagship on-highway Model 579.

The Peterbilt Model 579 UltraLoft boasts an expansive interior with the largest upper and lower bunk mattresses and most storage space in the industry. The UltraLoft maximizes the space available in the cab, making it an ideal on-highway truck for team drivers and training scenarios.
 

• Sleeper storage - the UltraLoft offers the largest heavy truck storage capacity of up to 70 cubic feet
• Split upper bunk - the only truck tractor with a split-fold upper bunk offering truck drivers the option of either a second bed (36" x 82" mattress) or extra storage space
• Lower bunk - sleep in luxury with a premium coil-spring 42"x 85" mattress
• Wardrobe closet - features the largest sleeper truck closet with a 45” height
• Interior height - with a floor-to-ceiling distance of more than eight feet, the UltraLoft is the most spacious over-the-road truck

• Microwave cabinet - the cabinet holds up to a 1.1-cubic-foot microwave that fits a full-size rotisserie chicken or a large meal
• Power Outlets - six 12-volt and three 110-volt outlets and two USB ports, depending on configuration
• TV mount – the Model 579 UltraLoft includes pre-wiring for the industry’s largest flat-screen TV of up to 32” wide
• Interior lighting – the perfect mix of lighting with four LED dome lights and three directional spot/reading lights
• Upper windows - large, tilting windows to bring in more natural light and ventilation for enhanced comfort

STREAMLINED PERFORMANCE ON THE ROAD

The Peterbilt Model 579 UltraLoft configuration delivers a 2% aerodynamic improvement to push the limits of efficiency even further while maintaining the styling and bold look of the Model 579. Truck drivers also gain a 1% increase in fuel economy for decreased fuel costs and the lowest cost of ownership.

Peterbilt’s newest model has been designed and tested in close collaboration with customers and drivers, maximizing aerodynamic performance and driver comfort.
