Avoid Downtime With These Essential Truck Maintenance Tips

Regular maintenance is necessary to maximize uptime and reduce operating expenses. The success of your fleet is a result of how well it is maintained. Listed below are a few key maintenance items that will help you prolong the life of your truck and will decrease downtime.
Aftertreatment System
DEF pump filter – replace every 320,000 km or annually whichever comes first
DPF/DOC filters – remove and clean every 200,000–380,000 km or annually
DEF doser – remove, pressure test, ow test and clean annually
DEF System – If your truck is parked for extended periods we suggest starting and idling your truck for 5 minutes weekly
Minimizing idle time where possible is key to avoiding issues
Engine Related Maintenance
Engine oil – change every 30,000–40,000 km or 6 months, whichever comes first depending on the application of your truck
Air dryer cartridge – replace annually
Air management sensors – remove and clean annually
Top set valve – adjust first at 65,000 km & every 260,000 km after that
Engine air filter(s) – inspect with every service
HC doser – remove, pressure test, flow test and clean annually
EGR cooler – flush annually
Chassis Component Maintenance
HVAC filter – inspect and clean annually
ESPAR/Aux heating cooling unit glow pin and screen filter – replace annually
GPS/SmartNav – check for updates every other month
