Brandt Employees Win Major Awards

Adam Kent, a talented technician from Brandt’s Knoxfield branch has been named the Turf Service Technician of the Year at the second annual John Deere Technician Awards.

In a hotly contested category, Adam competed against five other turf technicians from across Australia and New Zealand to clinch the Trans-Tasman title.

Adam began his career as a John Deere technician after completing a mature-age apprenticeship. Since then, he has worked his way up through the ranks. His technical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and positive attitude are well respected by customers, including one of Melbourne’s most prominent racecourses, which relies on perfectly maintained turf.

“I honestly feel surprised to have won, as I know just how dedicated and hardworking all John Deere turf technicians are,” Adam said. “I feel so proud to be representing my dealership, and I see this award as confirmation for the past decade I have worked in the industry.”

John Deere Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Luke Chandler, congratulated Adam on his new title. “Adam’s experience and diagnostic skills made him a clear frontrunner,” Chandler said. “As the turf industry adopts sophisticated and efficient equipment, the role of technicians has evolved. They become ingrained in customers’ businesses because they play a leading role in ensuring productivity.”

Sarah Lewis from the Brandt Terang branch was also a big winner at this year’s awards, being named the Australian Parts Technician of the Year.



Sarah grew up in regional Victoria around mechanically minded relatives on a small farm. Her upbringing instilled a fundamental understanding of the crucial role parts play in farming businesses with tight timeframes.
“As a parts technician, I support customers by giving them confidence they are receiving the right parts in a timely manner. This means they can be up and running 24-hours a day,” Sarah said. “This award recognises my skillset in supplying parts as being among the best in the country, and I feel so proud to be able to showcase the unique skills and talents of parts techs.”
