Calgary, Alberta – On January 8, 2015, Cervus Equipment’s founder and current Chairman of the Board, Peter Lacey, was awarded the 2014 Canadian Dealer of the Year by the Western Equipment Dealers Association (WEDA).

The Dealer of the Year Award recognizes an individual dealer for their leadership within the industry, their dedication towards growing their business into a successful entity and their commitment and legacy to their community.

Cervus Equipment believes leadership development is critical in achieving growth and success. Ensuring employees have the opportunity to develop as a leader is, and will continue to be a top priority for Cervus.

“Developing leaders to successfully manage and grow today’s businesses is what all organizations need to focus on for the future,” notes Peter Lacey during his acceptance speech.

Peter Lacey founded Cervus on his core values of supporting leadership and giving back to the community. These values have created growth across the entire organization and in the last 14 years Cervus has expanded from just 5 John Deere dealerships to 35 wholly-owned John Deere dealerships, 18 Peterbilt dealerships, 9 material handling dealerships and 6 Construction dealerships located across Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

It is the dedication of the Cervus employees and the passion they have for their customers that has created Cervus’ success. Their continued leadership and commitment has helped to make the achievement of this award possible.
