Financial Controller - ANZ

Due to continued growth and internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the accounting function for the businesses.

By leveraging business intelligence tools and financial analysis, the Financial Controller will support the Leadership team in making meaningful decisions in both the short- and long-term with practical insight and application into the financials affecting the business.

The Role

Reporting to the VP of Finance and Corporate Services, the Financial Controller will demonstrate effective leadership in the delivery of meaningful, accurate and timely reporting of financial and business metrics to all levels of management, including maintaining financial policies and procedures to enhance the strength and consistency of all internal control.

Other responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Overseeing the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements for Brandt Tractor Ltd. in a timely and accurate basis to allow for monthly and annual consolidated financial statement and reporting packages for the Company;
  • Collaboratively, formulate accounting policies in accordance with AASB and ensure consistency throughout the Company;
  • Provide support and input into the annual operating and capital budget process and quarterly forecasts;
  • Ensuring alignment between financial activities and the broader organisational strategy;
  • Maintain accurate weekly cashflow forecasts and manage cash inflows and outflows to ensure optimum cash position;
  • Ensure compliance and accurate reporting of all direct and indirect taxes, insurance and governance requirements across multiple states;
  • Oversight and management of month end close process, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation and expense reconciliations;
  • Oversee the completion of the Annual Audit and preparation of annual IFRS Financial Statements; and
  • Confidently lead and develop the accounting team to ensure efficient, effective operations of the department whilst serving the needs of the business.

Your Profile

You will be an experienced CPA / CA with significant financial management experience. You will have experience leading and managing a finance function across a multi-location organisation along with a leadership style of developing and building a high performing team, always looking to improve processes and adding value.

This Financial Controller role is best-suited to a progressive forward-thinker who is highly adaptable and motivated by a continuous improvement culture and environment.

Other key attributes essential for this opportunity will be:

  • Possessing either a Big 4 or Mid-tier background; agriculture or retail experience a strong advantage;
  • Experience leading an organisation through Audit and Statutory reporting;
  • Strong commercial acumen with a business partnering focus and a view of understanding key drivers and metrics;
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate at all levels; and
  • A high degree of intellect and emotional intelligence, in addition to confidence in your commercial judgement and decision-making, will ensure success in this position.
